Joseph Backes
Peacefully at the Carlingview Manor on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at the age of 87. Dearly beloved husband of the late Dolores (nee Goyette). Loving father of Marguerite Pearson (Hugh). Devoted grandfather of Dannielle, Andrew and Ian. Dear brother of Rose Séguin (late Roger), Arthur (Yvette), Gerry (Claire), Léo (Maggie) and Norman (late Claire). Pre-deceased by sisters Edna Marcil (late Frank), Elise Backes and brother Leonard (Jeannette). Friends are invited to visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry 1200 Ogilvie Road (at Aviation Parkway) on Sunday, December 2, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The Liturgy of the Word will be held in the Chapel on Monday, December 3, 2018 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family. Special thanks to Sylvie Petch also to the staff at the Carlingview Manor and the Embassy West Senior Living for their loving care and compassion.
