It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph Elkow announce his passing November 6, 2018 in Black Diamond, at the age of 82 years.
Joe was a very social person, offering his time volunteering and donating to a variety of different organizations throughout his years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the Royal Canadian Legion -Turner Valley Branch and The Order of United Commercial Travelers of America for many decades, positions he was proud of. Joe was an avid… Read More » and well versed crib player and loved playing with all those that indulged him. In his later years he still held a keen mind for numbers and keeping score. The hours spent with Joe playing crib will be memories his family and friends will cherish.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at The Heartland in Okotoks, as well as the Oilfields General Hospital. The care and support he received is incredibly appreciated.
A service in Joe’s memory will be held in the spring with interment to take place at that time in Paraskevia Cemetery in Two Hills County, Alberta.
If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion, Turner Valley Branch (121 Sunset Blvd East, Turner Valley, AB T0L 2A0) in Joe’s memory.
