Obituary of John Mezenberg
Mezenberg, John of Aylmer passed away at his residence with his family by his side on Monday, November 5, 2018 in his 80th year. Beloved husband of 54 years of Helena(Donkers) Mezenberg. Loving father of John Mezenberg (Jennifer) of Guelph and Lisa Vershaw(David) of Dallas, Texas. He will be missed by his grandchildren Jessica and Julia. Dear brother of Ann Wieggers(Tony), Tony Mezenberg(Margaret) , Christine Opsteen(Cor), Gerry Mezenberg (Joan), Willie Verberne(Tony), Mary VanAlphen(John), Cory Mezenberg(Louise) and Henry Mezenberg. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Born in Gemert The Netherlands on February 15, 1939, son of the late John and Lamberdina (Deenen) Mezenberg. Predeceased by brothers Adrian and Martin, infant sister Ardina. John was a tobacco farmer, worked at Imperial Tobacco and he was an independent Grader for the Ontario Flue-cured Tobacco Marketing Board. He sold real estate with Century 21 for a number of years. John was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus. Friends may call at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers Thursday at 6:45 p.m. The funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows R.C. Church on Friday, November 9, 2018 at 10:00 am. Cremation has taken place. A Private graveside service will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery. Donations to the VON or the St. Thomas Elgin General Hosptal would be appreciated.
