John Edward Clark 1932 2018

Obituary of John Clark
John passed away suddenly at the age of 85 on July 23, 2018 after a lovely round of golf, his favourite pastime.
Wonderful husband of 30 years to Pauline, and devoted father to Ted (Margaret), Susan (Anthony) and Roy (Shannon). Grandad to Rebecca and Christopher.
He is survived by his brother Geoff and sister-in-law Jeanette, as well as his sister-in-law Kathleen Bowcott, and other family. He is predeceased by parents, Edward and Vera, and by his first wife Ruby. Born in Middle, England, he emigrated to Canada in 1955 and began a long and successful career at Manulife. During his 34 years there, he worked in California, London, England, Toronto and, finally, Waterloo where he retired.
Always a planner, he retired early in order to realize his many dreams, including playing lots of golf, sailing, traveling, living abroad, and moving to South Carolina where he and Pauline opened up a book store. The perfect enterprise for a consummate reader. Our worlds will never be as happy or as much fun.
Friends are invited to share memories of John with his family at the Erb & Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. South. Waterloo on Friday, July 27, 2018 from 3 to 6 pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 11am in the funeral home chapel.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Arthritis Society would be appreciated by contacting the funeral home at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445
