GRATTAN, John “Jack” Donald -66, Pictou, passed away September 24, 2018 in the Aberdeen Hospital. Born June 24, 1952 in Diamond, NS, he was a son of the late Joseph Edward and Emily Steele (McCulloch) Grattan. He was predeceased by his first wife, Lorraine (Oxley); sisters, Evelyn Grattan and Pauline Oslanski. There wasn’t anything that Jack couldn’t fix, he was a true “Jack of all trades”. After retirement from Cottage Mechanical, Jack and Eric Holt were in great demand as Renovation “Specialists”. Jack enjoyed travelling, helping others plan trips, and doing research on family trees. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 26th from 6 – 9 pm in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, September 27th at 11 am from Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, Pictou, with Father Peter MacDonald officiating. Final resting place will be in Seaview Cemetery, Bay View. A special thank you to Drs. Burrill and Kwasnik, and the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the Aberdeen Hospital, as well as the staff of the Pictou County VON. Donations may be made in Jack’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Pictou County SPCA, or charity of your choice. www.mclarenfuneral.ca
