John Tywoniuk of Stony Plain, formerly of Barrhead AB, passed away at the Misericordia Hospital in Edmonton on January 3, 2018. John was born in Ochoża, Lubelskie, Poland on January 5, 1929. When he was one, he immigrated to Canada with his parents and brother in May of 1930. The family settled in the Paddle River area of Barrhead AB. During his time in Barrhead, he was a very active member of the community. He was a successful farmer, Director of the REA and member of the Knights of Columbus. John was instrumental in the building of the Paddle River Hall and was a major force in keeping it running for the community for many years. He…
