John E. Mulligan
August 25, 1938 – November 21, 2018
Sadly John passed away on November 21 at the age of 80. He leaves behind his loving wife of 56 years, Barbara, and his three children Kevin (Darlene), Shawna (Robbie), and Kathleen (Patrick). He was a cherished grandfather to Samantha, Laura, Bradley, Shane and Savanah. John was preceded in death by his mother Kathleen and father Eddie, both from Dublin, Ireland, and his only sibling Catherine. He is fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, in Canada and abroad. He will be particularly missed by his “shadow”, his little Yorkie, Maggie. John emigrated from Ireland in 1962 and retired from Teleglobe Canada in 1996. He had a happy retirement during which he spent many hours at his cottage on Lake Aylmer and travelling the globe. The family would like to thank the staff at the Lakeshore General Hospital’s geriatric unit 4 South for their excellent and compassionate care of John. The family invites friends and family to a celebration of John’s life on December 1 from 1 to 4 PM at Shawna’s home in Kirkland. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada. All arrangements have been made by Collins Clarke MacGillivray White at 222 Hwy. 20 in Point Claire.
