John Jacob “Jeech” Ratt was born on Thursday, August 27, 1958, in Prince Albert, SK and passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2018, in Black Bear Lake, SK, at the age of 59 years. Jacob is survived by his loving family, his daughters, Joanna (Dominic) Ratt, Florence Ratt; his sons, Dominic Ratt, Joseph Charles (Jeanna Halkett); the mother of his children, Sarah Vancoughnett; his grandchildren, Jaden, Denisha, Deandra, Anthony, Nathaniel, River, Dawn, Maria, Denise; his great grandchildren, Jason Boyd, Toby Boyd, Jonathan Ratt Roberts; his brothers and sisters, Daniel (Nora) Ratt, Annie (Gerald) Neufeld, Mary Ratt, Bella (Ronnie) McCallum, Zacheus (Koula) Ratt; his aunt, Vicky Mirasty; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased, by his sons, Dennis Boyd and Jonathan Charles; his parents, Moses and Rosie (nee Halkett) Ratt; his grandparents, Amos and Sally Ratt, Charlie and Emily Matilda (nee Ratt) Halkett; his brothers, Jack Ratt and George Ratt; his brother-in-law, Chris Preston; and numerous other relatives. John’s service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018 at the Kitsaki Hall in La Ronge, SK, Tom Sanderson and Edna Mirasty officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Church Cemetery in La Ronge, SK. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Lac La Ronge Funeral Home in La Ronge, SK, 306-425-3666, Debra Klassen, Funeral Director, and River Park Funeral Home in Prince Albert, SK, 306-764-2727, Donald M. Moriarty, Funeral Director.
