Taylor, John Harvey Age 87 of
Port Bickerton, Guysborough County passed away peacefully with his
family by his side on Saturday, March 31, 2018 in High-Crest
Sherbrooke Home for Special Care. Born in Port Bickerton, he was a son
of the late Ernest and Ethel (Hiltz) Taylor. Harvey had a passion for
the water and loved sword fishing. He was a well-respected businessman
in the community for over 42 years. Harvey was a great family man and
was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather, friend
and neighbour. He had a strong faith and trust in his personal Saviour
Jesus Christ. He is survived by daughters, Laureen (John) Maw,
Queensland; Jill (Wayne) Wright, New Harbour; Susan (Peter) Turner,
Port Bickerton; Lisa Smith, Antigonish; grandchildren, Shannon, Erin,
Jonah, Elliott, Zachary, Simon, Nicholas, Hillary, Tessa, Laura, 15
great-grandchildren; brother, Wayne(Shirley) Taylor, Timberlea; many
nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Helen
(Hiltz); brother, Guy; sister, Lily MacLellan. Visitation will be held
Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. in Port Bickerton Community Center from where
funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Morris
Mills officiating. Interment in Hillside Cemetery, Port Bickerton.
Family flowers only please. Memorial donations may be made to
High-Crest Sherbrooke Home for Special Care. Funeral arrangements are
under the dignified and compassionate care of G.W. Giffin Funeral
