April 24, 1921 – March 3, 2018
Passed away peacefully at the Streamway Villa in Cobourg on Saturday, March 3rd, 2018, at the age of 96. Beloved husband for 66 years to Elizabeth (nee Ewing), loving father to Gordon and dearest Grandad to Sean. Predeceased by his son John (Johnny). Missed by his nephews Robbie (Lydia), Robert (Mandy) and niece Ann (Donald). Born in Glasgow, Scotland, April 24th, 1921. Served in the Royal Air Force for 5 ½ years during World War II, spent 2 years in India. Emigrated to Canada in April 1951. Taught in the Apprenticeship Program at the Provincial Institute of Trades where he held various administrative positions. On the formation of the Community College System he was appointed Dean of the Architectural Technology Division at George Brown College in Toronto. A position he held until his retirement in December 1984. Jack was very popular and respected by friends and colleagues. Well organized and efficient with a pleasing personality. He will be missed. Jack has been cremated at his request. Cremation has taken place. Special thanks to the caring staff at Streamway Villa.
