GEORGE, John Francis
Peacefully passed away in hospital after a brief illness surrounded by his family on Monday, July 16, 2018 at the age of 66. Devoted husband of 37 years to Jane Preville. Loving father of Caroline, Kathleen (Ryan) and Heather (Jonathan). Proud Grandpa to Cameron and Lukas. Much loved son-in-law of Lorraine (the late Ross). Predeceased by his parents Frank and Bette and his brother Philip. John was ordained a Permanent Deacon in August 2011 and humbly served the Arch Diocese of Ottawa and Saint Patrick’s Basilica. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road (at Albion Road). Funeral Mass Friday, July 20, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Saint Patrick’s Basilica, 220 Kent Street. In memoriam donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canada Mental Health association would be appreciated.
