Proud grandfather of 11 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He will be truly missed by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Survived by sister-in-law Fran Spencer & Jake Dal of Campbellford, sisters Margaret & Douglas Dooher of Campbellford, Pat & Gary Lounsbury of Peterborough, Sherry Bertrand & Glen Craig of Campbellford. Predeceased by Dorothy Thomson, Bob & Fred Spencer. John was a farmer, loved his farms, land, cattle, Massey Tractors, pie and ice cream. He was involved in the community & the Springbrook United Church. Dear son-in-law of the late Harper & Edna Bateman of Spring Brook. Brother-in-law of Barbara Bateman of Toronto, Shirley & Sam McIlwaine of Stirling, and the late Douglas Bateman. A Graveside Service will take place at the Rylstone Cemetery, Sweet Road, Stirling-Rawdon on Sunday, November 4th, 2018 at 2 PM. Dr. Bruce Foster will be officiating. A Celebration of Life with a lunch will follow at the Springbrook United Church, County Rd 14, Springbrook. All are invited.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Rylstone Cemetery.
