It is with heavy hearts that the family of John Edward
Doucette announce that John has been called home to be with his Lord
and Savior on September 4, 2018. Born in Amiraults Hill, Yarmouth
County, NS on May 26, 1931, he was the son of the late George and
Elizabeth (Muise) Doucette.
John is survived by his children Sharon Basque (Joseph),
Susan Nash (Thomas), Paul Doucette, Donna Frenette (Paul) and Stuart
Doucette (Mary); his 11 grandchildren and many great
grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his wife Pauline; son David; sisters
Mary Jane and Louise, as well as brothers Thomas and
Laurie.
John was a proud member of the Canadian Armed Forces for 21
years. He served the majority of his career at CFB Gagetown. He had
also served overseas in Egypt and Cyprus. Upon his retirement from the
Military, he then went on to serve with the Corps of
Commissionaires.
Many thanks to the care and support workers at Thomas Hall,
Shannex for the excellent care given to our father.
By request of the family there will be no visitation. A
funeral service will be held from the Oromocto Baptist Church on
Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dr. Perry Hanley
officiating. A private family interment will follow the service. In
