John ‘Claude’ Bannister 19362018

John ‘Claude’ Bannister
1936-2018
John “Claude” Bannister, 82 of River
Glade passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, October 19,
2018.
Born November 3, 1936, Claude was the son of the
late Elvin and Neta (Smith) Bannister.
Claude, like his father before him, always had a
solution for friends and neighbours for any of their mechanical issues
and he always had time for a sit down story and a cup of coffee. His
happy times were in his garage repairing things, in the woods hunting,
cutting firewood or just enjoying nature in its
entirety.
His career began as a cabinet maker at Lockharts,
then a self employed contractor, and Carter’s Utilities followed by
twenty years with the correctional department.
Claude is survived by his beloved wife Elsie
(Symes); his son Darren Elvin (Phyllis); grandchildren Morgan,
Zachary, Shiajan and Joshua; great grandchildren Ronin, Harlyn,
Keegan, Maverick, Kayden, Makyah and Maddy; sister Maude Fawcett
Colpitts and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he is
predeceased by his sister Myrtle Lounsbury.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Route 106
(372-4800) visiting will be Monday, October 22 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
pm and from where the funeral will be held Tuesday, October 23 at 1 pm
in the chapel with Pastor Randy Matheson officiating.
If desired donations to a charity of choice would
be appreciated by the family.
