John Cameron 2018

OBITUARY
John Cameron
15 April , 1938 – 2 October , 2018
Cameron, John – April 15,1938-October 2, 2018 Age 80. Passed away peacefully in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital to the sound of his family storytelling and enjoying each other’s company.
A thoroughbred Cameron, John displayed the physical and spiritual characteristics of his ancestors. He was a man of great faith who placed his family above all else.
Johns exceptional character, integrity and loving nature made him an easy man to admire, which all of his grandchildren did. The time they spent together was mutually enjoyed as John loved children and they loved him.
John was a proud, humble, kind man for which material things meant very little. What he did value was time spent with friends and family, games of crib, the Saturday night square dance and a beautiful meal with friends.
An exceptionally hard worker all of his life, John provided for his family in the mines of Ontario before returning home to Mabou to found and build the trucking company that bears his name today. His business was run with the same level of integrity in which he conducted his life as he believed a man’s word was his bond, and that a handshake was an unbreakable contract.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kay; children, Brenda (Finlay), Kathi, Patsy (Bill), Marie (Louis), Gary (Missy) and stepchildren, Stephen, Nicole (Andrew) and Kevin.
Also survived are his grandchildren, Crystal (George), Mitchell, Craig, Justin , Logan, Zack (Manny), Kody (Krista), Travis, Deidra, Colby, Reid, Carson, Hayley; step grandchildren, Grant, Garrett, Gemma, Katherine, Jake, Reid, Madi; sisters, Rita (John), Gennie (Bill), Margie (Don), Anne (George d.), Patsy (Greg); and brothers, Donald (Flo), Raymond (Claudette) and Owen (Marie) also survive him.
John was predeceased by his first wife, Mariette (Ladouceur); infant daughter, Mary; son, Grant, parents, Sam and Euphemia (Grant); infant grandson, Ty, sister, Mary (Fred Anderson d.); brothers, Alex (Helen), Lawrence (Louise d), Angus (Gail d), and Gerald; Brother’s-In-Law, John Richardson (Rita), Fred Anderson (Mary), Bill Booth (Gennie), Jerome Keating (Marg), George Megahy (Anne); and Sisters-In-Laws, Helen (Alex), Flo (Donald), Louise (Lawrence), Gail (Angus), and Jean (Raymond); nephews, Ken Cameron, Scotty Megahy, Kenneth MacDonald and niece; Anne Keating.
Johns final gift to his family and friends was the determination in which he fought his illness. It gave us all the opportunity to make more memories with him which we will cherish always.
John was dearly loved and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Thank you John, for the standard you set, it was a privilege to have shared our lives with such a true gentleman. Our lives were all enriched by you.
