John Barrington Newcombe, Sr.
November 22, 1941 – Monday, February 19, 2018
John Barrington Newcombe, Sr. passed away suddenly and tragically on Monday, February 19, 2018; Family Day. John passed while doing what he always did, helping others . He will be greatly missed by his son John Newcombe, Jr. (fiance Alisa Lomenda); grandson Anderson Newcombe; sisters Beverley Newcome, Barbara (Don) Tillotson, and Kathy Newcombe; nieces Laura Strath (Gerry Zeck) and Shelly (Gene) Pawlak; great-niece Ashley Strath; great-nephews Connor Strath, Brett and Jarrod Pawlak; and his friends and acquaintances.
John will always be remembered by those that he encountered, encouraged and loved. His love of the outdoors gained him the notoriety as the guy who rode his bike everywhere. He was a familiar presence on the bike paths around Calgary and the downtown core.
His work in the area of volunteering was vast; John was always there to help when ever called upon.
The family is pleased to welcome those who knew John to the Banquet Hall (2000 Dovely Park SE) on Wednesday Feb 28, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. If you so desire, flowers may be sent to 24 Mt Cascade Close SE
