John’s Obituary
HILLSIDE – John Angus Beaton, 69, Hillside, passed away suddenly, Monday, November 12, 2018 at home with his loving partner, Marjorie by his side.
Born on May 26, 1949 in Eastern Passage, he was a son of the late Donald A. “Red” and Muriel “Molly” (Romkey) Beaton. John had been employed with Nova Scotia Power for over 30 years and most recently with the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 29, Trenton and the men’s dart league for many years. John was a member of the former Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, Trenton. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Surviving are his common-law wife of 26 years, Marjorie Louise (Leil) DeYoung; children, Kelly (Bill) Snow, Keri (Chris) White, Jaime Nickerson and Donald M. (Vicki) Beaton, all of British Columbia; his children’s mother, Debbie Frank; step-children, Paula Fitzpatrick, Ontario; Blaine DeYoung (Mindy), New Glasgow; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; siblings, Linda (David) Hartlen, East Lawrencetown; Catherine “Kaye” (Edward) Larwill, British Columbia; Donald F. (Betty) Beaton, Dutch Settlement; many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by step-son, Wally.
The family will receive visitors 12 – 1:50 p.m. Friday, Nov.16th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 2 p.m. with Father Thomas A. MacNeil presiding. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery.
