John’s Obituary
CARIBOU ISLAND – John Albert Woods, 75, Caribou Island, passed away, Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at home following a long battle with cancer.
John was the son of the late Frank and Linda (Teasdale) Woods. He was born in Hanover, Ontario, entered the Royal Canadian Navy where he served as a medic for 10 years. John went on to work as a paramedic and owned several small businesses that he continued to operate up until the time of his death. John was one of the founding members of the Green and White booster club a fundraising group for the New Glasgow high school basketball program. His life was his work.
Surviving are his sons Michael (Monica Munro) Calgary, Alta.; David (Kelly) Lawrencetown, N.S.; John (Jackie) Calgary, Alta.; grandchildren, Ross, Avery and Lauren.
John was predeceased by his wife Valerie Cochrane (2012); sisters, Marion Phillips and Frances Sutherland.
In keeping with John’s wishes, the family will celebrate his life privately. He will be sorely missed in death, as he was in life.
