Obituary of Joanne Badder
Badder: Joanne F. (Coleman) formerly of R.R.#6 Dresden, passed away peacefully at Riverview Gardens, Chatham on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the age of 90. Born in Euphemia Twp., daughter of the late Francis and Clara (Gore) Coleman. Joanne worked as a volunteer at Thamesview Lodge for over 20 years and was a member of St. Paul’s Church, Thamesville and a life member of the Catholic Women’s League. She worked with her husband Orlo on the family farm, raising three children. In her earlier years she worked at the Dresden Canners, cleaned homes, and was a janitor at a one room school house. Joanne loved to garden, bake homemade bread, cooking, canning, and making tied quilts for friends and family. Beloved wife of 64 years to the late Orlo Badder (2009). Loving mother of Carlyle “C.J.” Badder (Jackie), Christine Parkins (Dave), and Clare Badder- Parking (Brad). Loving grandma to Dawn Balan (Greg), Bill Rich (Jodi), Steve Badder (Kendra), Nicole Badder, Denise Luksys (Chris), Terrylyn Rocheleau (Darrin), Mike Badder (Stephanie), Daryl Badder (Megan), Michelle Parkins, Bryan Parking, and Alyson Parking (Zac). Sadly missed by great-grandchildren Ravynne, Josh, Hannah, Abby, Ryan, Ben, Brayden, Brooke, Dean, Molly and Jacob. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Dorothy Smith (late Hubert), Douglas Coleman (Nancy), Jim Coleman (Kathy), John Badder (Marilyn), Vern Badder (Muriel), Ron Badder (Pauline). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a sister Marjorie Wilson (Ivan), a brother Victor Coleman (Frances), sisters-in-law Margaret Coleman, Margaret Badder, Velma Taylor (Lorne), brothers-in-law Lloyd Badder (Norma), and Jimmy Badder. The Badder family will receive family and friends at the John C. Badder Funeral Home, 72 Victoria St. Thamesville on Tuesday from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 7:00 – 9:00 PM. Prayers will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 PM. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 11:00 AM. Interment St. Paul’s Cemetery, Thamesville. Donations to the Arthritis Society, Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation or the charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.
