Obituary Overview
In Loving Memory
SIMPSON, Joan (nee. Booth) – Peacefully and with her loving family by her side Joan passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Sat May 26th, 2018 in her 64th year. Beloved wife and best friend to Larry for 48 years.
Cherished mother to Sean (Annamarie) and Stephanie Simpson.
Special Nanny to Riley, Ava and Sawyer and step-nan to Jacob, Owen and Eric Bellehumeur and Andrew and Johnny Mosher. Joan will be fondly remembered by her mother-in-law Alice (the late Claire) Simpson, sisters-in-law Carol (Mike) Kirby, Joanne (Phil) Bradley, Muriel Simpson (Walt Dubas) and brother-in-law Chuck Simpson. Predeceased by her parents Violet and Stanley Booth.
She will be missed by her nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and her dogs Chloe and Gracie Mae.
Joan always enjoyed golfing with her ladies league at Sparrow Lakes. She also loved her cottage on Lake Muskoka and the many memories created there with family and friends.
Her family extends a heartfelt ‘Thank You’ to the Oncology team at the Walker family cancer centre for their care and compassion as well as the LHIN Palliative care team for their support.
In keeping with Joan’s wishes cremation has taken place. Her family will receive guests at PLEASANTVIEW FUNERAL HOME (2000 Merrittville Hwy at the corner of Hwy # 20) 905-892-1699 on Thur May 31st from
2-4 & 6-8 pm. A Celebration of her life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Fri June 01st at 10:30 a.m. Memorial donations to the Walker Family Cancer Centre will be appreciated by her family. You are invited
