Obituary Overview
Joan L. Flynn
June 4, 1935 ~ December 16, 2018
Joan Louise Flynn, age 83, of Garlands Crossing, Hants County, passed away peacefully at the Hants Community Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday morning, December 16, 2018.
Born on June 4, 1935, in Three Mile Plains, Hants County, Nova Scotia, Joan was the daughter of late Earl and Ruth (Anthony) Bowman.
Joan was full of love, kindness and was glue that held our family together. Her family and friends were her life and she cherished every moment she had with them, whether it was raising seven kids and extended family with Mort, traveling the Maritimes camping and going to music jams with Carl, or going for long weekend drives and visiting with family and friends. Joan made us laugh a little harder, cry a little less, and smile a lot more.
Joan is survived by her daughter, Donna (Robert) Thomson, Garlands Crossing; sons, Morty (Kathy) Flynn, Windsor; Tony Flynn, Windsor; Duane (Dianne) Flynn, Fall River; her sister, Sylvia (John) Fogarty, Newport Station; and her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family.
Joan is predeceased by her first love and husband, Morton Flynn; her loving companion of 15 years, Carl Redden; her sons, Earl and Terry Flynn; her daughter, Cathy Benedict (Flynn); and her sister, Ruth Redden (Bowman).
Cremation has taken place under the care of Lindsay Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Box 2218, Windsor, NS, B0N 2T0.
A Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, December 21, 2018, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Garnet Parker officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in the Ste. Croix Cemetery, St. Croix.
