Obituary of Jim Rice
James Rice, a lifetime resident of Dawson Creek, BC, passed away with his family by his side on Monday, May 21, 2018 in Dawson Creek, at 63 years of age.
Jim was born on May 1, 1955 to Everett and Anne Rice in Dawson Creek. He graduated school in Dawson Creek and then went on to work as a driller. With this job, Jim was able to travel around northern BC and Alberta. He later moved up to being a consultant in the oilfield and moved to Bow Island, AB. When Jim moved back home he worked as an equipment operator.
In his spare time, Jim enjoyed being in the outdoors and going hunting. His family was very important to him and his children and grandchildren always received a call or text on their birthdays. He never missed their special day.
Jim is survived by: daughters; Kathy (Kenny) Regner and Christine (Joe) Simlik, grandchildren: Kiersten (Spencer Holmes) Regner, Kaitlynn (Anders Carlstad) Regner, Brenden Randall, Bryce Randall, Kevin (Jordan Patterson) Simlik, Matt Simlik, great-grandchildren: Harper Simlik, Wesson Holmes and Holden Holmes, brothers: Dennis Rice, Donald Rice and Allan Rice.
Jim was predeceased by: his parents: Everett and Anne, brother: Willy Rice, sisters: Dorothy Stedel and Bernice Fossen.
With respect to Jim’s wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. Interment will be at a later date.
