James Thomas Tweedie
1928-2018
KOUCHIBOUGUAC, NB – It with great sadness that the
family of James Thomas Tweedie, of Moncton, NB announce his passing on
November 18, 2018 at the Moncton City Hospital. Born in
Kouchibouguac, NB on May 19th, 1928, Jim was the oldest of seven
children of the late Charles and Susan (Powers) Tweedie of
Kouchibouguac, Kent County, NB.
Jim was a devoted husband, father and fun-loving Grampie who
enjoyed bouncing the little ones on his knee to music of his own
making. An avid gardener, he took great pride in his
vegetable harvest. Jim enjoyed summers at his home in Kouchibouguac,
NB where he tended to his garden and a large population of
hummingbirds, and with Barbara enjoyed visiting family and
friends. Jim will be fondly remembered by many from his 37
years of driving bus for SMT, Ltd. Quick with a laugh, his
easy going way made him a popular choice for charter bus
tours.
Jim will be dearly missed by his wife of 65 years, Barbara H.
Tweedie (Carter); son Dean, daughter Darlene (Blair) Kingston of
Rexton, NB; two brothers, Ed (Annette) Tweedie of Moncton, NB and
Andrew Tweedie of Edmonton, Alberta; five grandchildren, seven great
grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins as well as his Aunt
Gladys McIntyre of Moncton, NB.
In addition to his parents, Jim is predeceased by brothers
Kenney, Hughie and Robert, his only sister Mary Fraser, and
sisters-in-law Julia, Dixie and Ruth.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2018
at 2:00 pm, Thompson’s Funeral Home Chapel in Richibucto,
officiated by Pastor Raymond Vautour. Arrangements are in
