James “Jim” Scott
1947-2018
It is with broken hearts that we, the
family of James Francis Soctt, annnounce
his passing on August 18, 2018 at his home with his loving family by
his side.
Born in Sackville, NB, James was the son
of the late John and Anna (Estabrooks) Scott.
Jim worked as a cook and baker for food
services at Mount Allison University for over forty years.
Jim was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather,
brother and friend. In addition to his family, he will be
sadly missed by all that had the opportunity to meet
him.
He will be sadly missed by his wife
Diane (LeBlanc); sons Wayne (Janet Belliveau) and Tony (Keri Jewkes);
daughters Marsha (Claude Nicholson) and Tammy (Scott Brander); 9
grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; fur-baby Oscar; brothers Edgar,
Brian and Cecil; sisters Barbara and Kathy.
He was predeceased by a son James;
brothers John and George and sister Lillian; several nieces, nephews;
cousins.
Arrangements have been entrusted to
Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church
St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) where all are invited to an Afternoon
of Remembrance from 2 until 4 pm on Friday, August 24,
2018. A graveside service in the Amherst Cemetery will take
place at a later date.
Donations in memory of Jim may be made
to the VON, the Canadian Red Cross, or the charity of your
choice.
The family would like to thank the
Cumberland Regional Health Care Palliative Care Unit and the VON CCA’s
nurses. Giving special thanks to the Palliative Doctor,
Doctor Short and nurse Amy Thurston, as well as the VON nurse Ashley
Bourgeois for her caring and kindness during our time in
need.
