Obituary of Jacqueline Ards
We are so very sad to announce the passing of Jackie Ards at the QEII Hospital in Grande Prairie, AB on May 10th, 2018 after a long battle with COPD.
Jackie was born in St. John, New Brunswick where she completed school. She worked most of her life in homecare, beginning with those who were mentally challenged, working mostly in the Digby, Nova Scotia area. She was also a wonderful Mother raising four children mostly on her own. Moving to Alberta about 2001, she continued her work in homecare at the Grande Prairie Care Centre. She met her husband Patrick in 2002 and continued to work until her failing health made it impossible to continue.
She loved going camping with her family always willing to try something new. Her family was always most important to her. She would gladly go without to ensure others had what they needed.
Jackie will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 16 years, (William) Partick, daughter Laura Conlin, sons Christopher Conlin and Carl Howard, grandchildren Logan and Kaylah Bertaux, Cavin, Amber and Dustin Vidito, Caleb and Chloe Howard, Austin, Ceilidh, Charlotte, Emma and Jacob Conlin, her siblings Ann Marie McDonough, Jack Mercer, Christine Scribbans, Judy Sleeves, Pat Mercer, Larry Mercer, Ian Mercer and Eugene Mercer.
She was pre-deceased by her daughter Jennifer Conlin Vidito (2010), her mother Mary Mercer and brothers Robert Mercer and Thomas Mercer.
There will be a celebration of life for Jackie at Richmond Reception Centre/Bear Creek Funeral Home on Saturday May 19th, 2018 at 2:00pm in the Prairie Hall.
