JACK GROOT
Jack Groot, 92, of Mitchell passed away peacefully at the Ritz Lutheran Villa, Mitchell on Wednesday, May 30, 2018.
Beloved husband of Germina (Vanderhyden) Groot. Dear father of Barb Groot, Clasina Debont (Bert), Cor Groot (Leslie), Marian Vogels (Paul), Marg Van Bakel (Jim) and Gerard Groot (Melissa). Loving grandfather of 20 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Annie Swart, Clasien Sanders and Margaret Groot. Dear brother-in-law of Marie Groot and Lies Groot.
Predeceased by son Jimmy (1967), parents Cornelis and Klazina Groot, brothers Jacob, Cornelius and Jan, sisters Angeline Bakker, Elizabeth Mosch and Ann in infancy, brothers-in-law Jacobus Swart, Pieter Mosch, Thys Bakker and Siem Sanders.
Friends will be received at the Lockhart Funeral Home, 109 Montreal St., Mitchell on Sunday, June 3, 2018 from 2-5 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Mitchell on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ben Raze – celebrant. Interment in St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Lockhart Reception Centre. Memorial donations to St. Vincent de Paul Church Building Fund or Alzheimer Society would be appreciated and may be made at LockhartFuneralHome.com.
