Obituary of Jack Westlake
Suddenly with his family by his side at St. Mary’s Hospital, Kitchener, on Sunday May 13th, 2018. Jack Francis Westlake, of Owen Sound, at the age of 75 years. Dearly loved husband of Brenda Westlake (nee Goit). Loving father of Shaun Westlake, of Owen Sound and Kelly Westlake (Corey Lovitt), of Bolton. Proud grandfather of Allison and Ryan. Dear brother of Fred Westlake (Donna), of Port Colborne and Norine Rydahl (Lenny), of Toronto. Will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Jack and Muriel Westlake. Jack worked for the Ministry of Agriculture and Food from 1970-2000, in York, Leeds and Grenville, and Grey Counties. Jack faithfully volunteered on many committees including the Inglis Falls Arboretum Alliance, Stewardship Grey Bruce. Jack supported 4-H his entire life and he exemplified the 4-H pledge of, “my head to clearer thinking, my heart to greater loyalty, my hands to larger service, my health to better living for my club, my community and my country”, in all his actions.
Friends may call at the BRIAN E. WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 250 – 14th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario N4K 3X8 (519-376-7492) on Thursday, May 17th, 2018 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Memorial Service for Jack Westlake will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel, on Friday, May 18th, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Kathy Underwood officiating. Interment in Caistorville Cemetery, Caistorville, Ontario, at a later date. If so desired, the family would appreciate donations to the Spinal Cord Injury of Ontario as an expression of sympathy.
