Jack Johanson
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jack Johanson at the age of 80 after his 5 month battle with Cancer. Jack is lovingly remembered by his children: son Darrell (Karen) Johanson & daughter Erin Johanson & son Parker, Kyle (Kari) Johanson & son Emmitt; son Darcy (Anita) Johanson, & children Yasmeen & Ramsey Derbas; daughter Lori (Gary) Emde & children Brandon (Melissa) Lucyk & Breanne Lucyk, Spencer (Tracy) Emde & daughter Chloe and Carter Emde (Ashley Easton) & their daughters Harlow & Hensley; daughter Donna Johanson (Clint Lavanway).
Also left to mourn Jack is sibling Bob Johanson; sister-in-law Diane Johanson; brother in law Clifford (Linda) Stauber, Geri (Peter) Lykkemark, Gloria Meyers, Audrey Stauber, Leanne (Gene) Gerspacher, as well as various nieces and nephews.
Jack was predeceased by his loving wife Shirley Johanson (nee Stauber), his father Inge Johanson, mother Juliet Shupak (Nee Jevning), step mother in law Louise Stauber, father in law Joseph Stauber, step mother in law Mary Mertz, his infant son Robert Johanson, brother Richard (Dick) Johanson, sister-in-law Heather Johanson, grandson Jordan Johanson, step sister in law Arlene Hermann and her husband Gerald Hermann & step brother in law Murray Stauber.
Jack was born in Edmonton, Alberta and grew up in Bardo, then Tofield before moving to Edmonton where he met Shirley on a blind date. They were married in 1957, later moving to Regina then Toronto and finally Saskatoon. Jack worked in the pipeline industry for the majority of his life. He loved his Blue-jays and would be happy to discuss baseball including his days as a player. He was loved by all and will be truly missed.
A Celebration of Jack’s Life will be Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home (east on 8th St, first right past Briargate Rd).
