It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jack Alfred Doherty on Sunday, September 30, 2018 with his family by his side. Loved and cherished by his wife Donna for 62 years. Loving father of Guy (Wendy), Randy (Lou), Stephen, and Sandra. Proud grandfather of Amanda (Derek), Ashley (Matt), Grady (Nicole), Martina, Lee (Kayla), Joanna (Kris), Isaac (Rhiannon), and Emily. Proud great grandfather of Ava, Kalvan, Jack, Jaxton, Kye, and Willow. Dear brother of Jim Turcotte.
Jack was a teacher at West Hill Secondary School from 1968 until his retirement in 1993. He was an avid sailor (moon spinner) Commodore GYC 1993, hunter and fisherman. Jack was a member of the Sydenham Sportsmens Association, Meaford Rod & Gun, the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 6 Owen Sound, and served on the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters Board of Directors.
A Celebration of Jack’s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, 1450 2nd Ave West, Owen Sound on Sunday, October 21, 2018 from 1-4pm.
The family wish to send their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Chapman House Hospice.
Memorial Donations to the Chapman House Hospice or the Sydenham Sportsmens Association would be appreciated by the family.
