Ivan Wilburt McCann passed away on July 10, 2018 at the age of 84. He is survived by his loving wife Rita; sons Michael of Vernon, BC and Robert and wife Michelle of Toronto, ON; grandchildren Noah and Logan. Predeceased by brother Garfield.
Ivan was born in North Battleford, SK and later moved to Endcliff, MB and took his High School in Russell, MB. Ivan married Rita Fingas in 1955 in Inglis MB. Ivan was an avid hockey and baseball player. Ivan found his career with the Royal Bank working in Minnedosa, Thunder Bay, Winnipeg and Saskatoon. He retired in Regina moving to Kelowna in 1990. Ivan golfed for many years at Sunset Ranch course and took up downhill skiing, which he thoroughly enjoyed. He loved to play cards, Bridge and Cribbage. While living in the prairies, Ivan’s favorite sport was hunting ducks. Ivan was always involved with Church Council in both Winnipeg and Regina and most recently at Christ Lutheran Church in Kelowna.
A funeral service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 2091 Gordon Drive, Kelowna, BC at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 with Rev. Wallace Loge officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gospel Mission or Christ Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or Gospel Mission, Kelowna, BC.
