Isidore Oneil Tiny Douville 2018

Obituary Overview
Isidore Oneil “Tiny” Douville
The only son of Albert and Celine (Bouchard) Douville, Tiny was born in Ponteix Saskatchewan 20 January 1926. He had four older sisters (Gilberte, Laurena, Jacqueline, Helene) and two younger (Pauline and Madeleine). He was pre-deceased by his loving wife of 41 years, Blanche (nee Lussier) in 2002, by his father, mother, and five of his sisters. His sister Helene, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many cousins including Sr. Anita Douville survive him.
Tiny took over the running of the family farm at 19 years of age when his father died, but being unable to keep things going, moved his Mom and younger siblings to town and found various jobs helping on farms and as a lumberjack. This is where he got his ironic nickname “Tiny” but at 6’ 2”, he was hardly tiny! He sent money home to his Mom helping her as he could. When he heard of a job opportunity at the mine in Flin Flon he moved and started working outside with the heavy equipment. He built a reputation for being innovative, for having innate knowledge and skill with machinery, and for going the extra mile taking care of the equipment. He had many interests and an incredible acumen for learning how to do anything. With his developing knowledge, he was able to transfer to the smelter, where he created moulds for pouring and oversaw the operation of the furnace and eventually rose to the position of foreman.
Tiny met the love of his life, Blanche (Lussier) and married her on 16 September 1961 at the Fort Garry Hotel. They made their life together in Flin Flon in the house that Tiny built them until 1984 when they moved to Winnipeg to enjoy retirement. While there, Tiny greatly enjoyed working in his huge garden cultivating all kinds of vegetables and fruit. Tiny and Blanche’s love for each other was a wonderful example to all whose lives they touched. They were very generous with their love for their extended families graciously hosting many delicious meals and evenings of cards, cribbage and dominos. Throughout his life, Tiny continued to work with his hands and loved to build things. While in hospital recently, he confessed that if he had been able to he would have loved to further his education and then to work in the construction industry. Tiny will be remembered as a kind-hearted, loving man who did everything he could to help those around him, a true example to the world.
