Cowell, Roy Irvine “Irv”
A resident of Courtright, formerly of Chatham, Irv passed away surrounded by family at his home on December 29, 2018 in his 85th year.
He was the son of the late Joseph and Inez (nee Mellow) Cowell.
Loving husband to JoAnn Cowell (nee McGinnis) and the late Judith Cowell (2015).
Remembered by his children, Janet Eastman of Belleville, Kathy Robbie (Art) of Oshawa, Debi (the late Bill Haydon, 2017) of Chatham, Robert Cowell (Karen) of Belleville, the late Ron Hiller (2013), and Michele Dupuis (Josue Araujo) of Sarnia.
Missed by grandchildren, Melissa, Jamie, Brandon, Kirstie, Tiffani, Hannah, Tyler, Tiffany, Matty, and Madison.
Great-grandfather to Christian, Aiden, Gaven, Lucas, Allison, Reece, Kate, Willem, and Jasper.
Fondly remembered by his extended family, JoAnn’s children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren and his karaoke family
He will be deeply missed by his furry friends, Lexi, Charlie & Chloe.
Irv retired from National Grocers, as a Truck Driver, after 40+ years of service. He was a Past Governor & President of the Blenheim Moose Lodge, participating in many charitable events. He was an active part of the Maple City CB Club, Operation Red Nose, & REACT Club. Irv enjoyed camping, singing karaoke & teaching JoAnn to dance.
Family to receive friends on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 from 3:00 – 5:00 pm & 7:00 – 9:00 pm at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham. A Moose Lodge Service will take place at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday at the Funeral Home. Burial to follow in Maple Leaf Cemetery.
