Irene Shalewa
On August 24, 2018, Irene Shalewa of Edmonton passed away at the age of 95 years.
Irene is survived by her son, John (Sonia); grandchildren, William (Sharon), Andrea (Bohdan) Tarasenko and Marianne; great-grandchildren, Nova and Paul; niece, Anna Shaleva and nephew, John Szalewa, both of Chicago; as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Ukraine. Predeceased by her husband, William; parents, John and Anastasia; infant sister; sister, Anna; and brother, Mykola.
Prayer Service Wednesday, August 29 at 7:00 p.m. at St. George Ukrainian Catholic Church, 11305 – 95A Street.
Divine Liturgy Thursday, August 30 at 10:00 a.m. at St. George Ukrainian Catholic Church. Reverend Anton Tarasenko officiating with interment in St. Michael’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. George Ukrainian Catholic Church for church needs or orphanages in Ukraine.
