Passed away Friday, November 2, 2018 at Freeport Hospital in her 89th year.
Beloved wife of Karl for 63 years.
Loving mother of Siegfried Giebat (Joanne) and Ingrid Hafemann (Peter).
Dear grandmother of Christopher (Christine), Rebecca (Jakob), Christian (Tessa), Nikolas and Philip. Great-grandmother to Jenson.
Dear sister-in-law to Ewin (Greta) and the late Helmut.
Dear aunt of Michael (Darlene), Richard (Jamie) and Karla and great-aunt of Amy.
Dear sister of the late Lilli Brauer, Richard, Ella, Olga and Arnold.
Irene’s family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, November 5, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener visitation will continue from 10-10:45 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church on Tuesday. The funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Bethel Lutheran Church, 47 Sheldon Avenue North, Kitchener.
Pastor Perry Hart officiating.
Interment St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery followed by a reception in the church hall.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Bethel Lutheran Church would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
