Irene Victoria Gustafson passed away peacefully in her sleep in her home at the age of 87 years. Irene was born in the Lacombe area and loved living on the family farm. “Mama Gus” moved to Blackfalds in 1963 and remained there until her passing. She is survived by her children, Eric Gustafson and Coleen (Dave) Douglas; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Audrey (Glen) Whitecotton; and brother, Don (Irene) Risky. Irene was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Martha Risky; sister, Grace Grover; and children, Richard, Francis, Bryan, Clare and Mike. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Blackfalds Community Centre, 4810 Womacks Road, Blackfalds, Alberta on Friday, November 9, 2018 at 1:00pm.
