Irene’s Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Irene Payne announce her peaceful passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Friday, Nov. 23, 2018 at the age of 71. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her husband Douglas of 51 years; her children: Darren (Charise) Payne, Doug Payne (Valerie Bell), and Wallace Payne (Gerry Cox); her grandchildren: Callie, Douglas, and Jordan; her brothers: Calvin and Aubrey; her sisters: Ethel, Marina, Bell, Margaret, Rose, Marlie, Geraldine; and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Irene was predeceased by her parents: Ettie & Royal Madore; her brothers: Churchill, Leon, Austin, Warren, Winston, Fred, Isaac, Russell; and her sister Una. At Irene’s request, cremation has taken place. Visitation for family and friends will take place at the Country Haven Chapel, 167 Country Road on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018 from 2-3 pm from where the funeral service will take place following at 3 pm with Rev. Roberta Woodman officiating. Interment to follow at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted and/or memorial donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice. The family would like to send a special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the WMRH Palliative Care Unit, and also to the many friends and family for all of the care and compassion they have shown through this difficult time.
