Leis, Irene Evelyn (nee Siemon) April 8, 1930 – October 31, 2018
Irene’s family sadly announces she passed away peacefully in her sleep, in her 89th year, following a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease. Much loved mother of Carl, Dennis and Nancy, Randy and Patti, John and Louise, Doug and Monica, and Mark. Predeceased by her husband Milton (1994), daughter Catherine (1996), parents Carl Siemon and Pearl Siemon (nee Fischer), sisters Dorothy and Merilyn, and brother Harvey. Survived by 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Lovingly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Irene was a long-time member of St. Philip’s Lutheran Church and recently St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.
Irene’s family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, November 4, 2018 and from 12-12:45 p.m. on Monday, November 5, 2018 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Monday at 1 p.m. Reception to follow. Private cremation with interment at a later date. Many heartfelt thanks to the staff at Trinity Village Care Centre, especially Pinweood, for their compassionate care. Donations to St. Luke’s Church and Trinity Village Care Centre – Pinewoods would be greatly appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
