It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Irene Blanche Corbett (nee MacKinnon), on May 23, 2018 at Royal Victoria Hospital.
She was born on June 23, 1934 in Cornwall Ontario. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years Patrick, father Kenneth, and mother Viola.
Her extraordinary nursing career was at the Royal Victoria hospital where she was an OR supervisor, head nurse of Ross 2 and then of 6th Medical and Palliative Care. She was a trail blazer and was respected for how strongly she stood up for her nurses and for the exceptional patient care received on her wards.
She delighted in the lifelong friendships formed with her husband through the Montreal barbarians Rugby Club and those she formed through her work and line dancing. She loved her animals and her home, was a devoted wife and mother and will be terribly missed.
