Ida Duhaime nee Sherry November 4th 2018

Ida passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 4, 2018, just 3 days shy of her 88th birthday. Born in Huntingdon, Quebec on November 7, 1930 to Patrick Sherry and Anne Feeny, she was the youngest of 4 children. She leaves to mourn Carl, her husband of 56 years; children, Chris (Shannon), Sherry (Warren) Gavlin and Shaun (Marilyn); grandchildren, Brittany (Brian), Steven, Jonathan, Eric, Connor and Brady; and one great-grandchild, Bennett. Ida was predeceased by her parents, Patrick & Anne Sherry; sisters, Mary Sherry and Anna Fortin; and brother, Charles Sherry. After completing high school, and a 2 year Business course, Ida left the farm and began a career at Bell Canada, and then the New York Telephone Co. She and Carl were married in 1962, and lived in Huntingdon until 1976, when their family moved to Alberta. Over the next 42 years, they lived in Calgary, Camrose, Drayton Valley, and Innisfail until finally retiring in Calgary in 1994. A Celebration of Life will take place at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, 541 Silvergrove Dr NW, Calgary, AB on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 1:00pm. Inurnment will immediately follow mass at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens, 24223 Township Road 242, Calgary, AB.
