Obituary Overview
Forever Missed & Always Remembered
The sudden passing of Ida Caroline Butler (nee Hayes) of Amherst occurred on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 in the comfort of her own home.
Born in Bridgetown, NS, Ida was a daughter of the late Clarence and Edith (Vidito) Hayes.
Ida had a great love for music and enjoyed dancing and spending quality time with family, friends and her special person in her life, June Damery.
Ida’s cherished memories were the time she spent at the lighthouses with her husband, Frank. She will be loving remembered by her husband of 43 years, Frank; children, Deborah Negus; Thomas Negus and Vicki Burden; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces, nephews; special niece, Sherry Ogden as well as extended family.
Ida was the last surviving member of her immediate family and was predeceased by siblings, Chester Hayes, Dorothy Allen, Jean Gouchie, Betty Hayes, Louise Arsenault and Leona Hicks.
A celebration of life and sharing of memories of Ida will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 1:00 pm from Campbell’s Funeral Home Chapel, 98 Church St., Amherst (902) 667-9906.
Memorial contributions in Ida’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Children’s Wish Foundation.
