1930 – 2018
Ian Phineas Williston of Bay du Vin passed away on Friday morning March 23, 2018 at the age of 88 surrounded by family.
Born in Boston, Mass., he was the son of the late Phineas and Gertrude (Carroll) Williston. He was a fisherman all his life and a member of St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church. Ian was a passionate life-long member of the PC party. He devoted himself to his community, politics, and most importantly his family.
He is survived by one sister Phyllis Carroll (Robert) of Bathurst; two brothers Harry Williston (Velma) and David Williston (Catherine) all of Bay du Vin; one sister in-law Rhona Williston of Bay du Vin, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, one sister Margaret Kingston, five brothers Haley, Eric, John, Paul and Herbie Williston, and special niece Gail Kingston.
Visitation will be held at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St. Miramichi, with visiting hours on Sunday, March 25, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Bay du Vin on Monday, March 26, 2018 at 2 pm with Rev. Thomas W.L. Nisbett officiating. Interment will be in church cemetery later in the spring.
