Hugh Wilson McNaughton
1938-2018
It is with great sadness that the family of Hugh Wilson
McNaughton announce his passing on August 7, 2018. Born on June 22,
1938, in Westville, NS, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Mae Irene
(Wilson) McNaughton.
Hugh served in the Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery for
35 years retiring as a Sergeant in 1991. Hugh was also very active in
his community coaching various hockey and baseball teams.
Hugh led some of those teams to National and Provincial
titles over the years; such as, CF National Hockey Champions, Oromocto
High School Blues and Oromocto Minor Hockey Provincial
titles. In addition to being a coach, Hugh was an elite
athelete throughout his military career.
Hugh was also an active member of the Oromocto Masonic Lodge,
Shriners and member of the Royal Canadian Legion.
He is survived by spouse Carol Joyce (MacLeod) McNaughton;
sons Glenn McNaughton (Gail) of Collingwood, ON and Darren McNaughton
(Terri) of Simpsonville, South Carolina; daughter Colleen Donnelly
(nee) McNaughton (Mike) of Lincoln, NB; grandchildren Zachary, Cody,
Caroline, Kendal, Connor, Andrew and Aaron; brother Lloyd MacNaughton;
nephew Kenneth MacNaughton (Krista); niece Gwen MacNaughton, as well
as his grand-dog Elwood.
In addition to his parents, Hugh was predeceased by his
sister-in-law Ghyssie MacNaughton.
By request there will be no visitation. The public
is welcome to attend an interment that will take place at the Oromocto
Pioneer Gardens on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 2pm.
Memorial donations may be made to The Oromocto Minor Hockey
Association.
