Obituary of Hendrik Beijes
BEIJES, HENDRIK: At McNally House Hospice on Monday, April 23, 2018, with his family at his side after a courageous battle with cancer, God promoted to glory our dear husband, father, and grandfather Hendrik (Henk) Beijes in his 75th year. Born January 2, 1944 in Drenthe, The Netherlands to the late Michiel and Hilchien Beijes (Boog). Dear husband of 45 years to Dorothy Beijes, nee DeVries. Loving father of Mike and Mandy Beijes, Wendy Beijes, Helena Intini, Cindy Beijes, and Scott Beijes. Dear grandfather of Cody Beijes, Kayla Beijes (Aaron), Brady Beijes, and Tyler Intini. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Tony Beijes, Arie Beijes and Wim Beijes, brother-in-law Reinder Jacobi, and niece Hilda Veenbaas. Also predeceased by his parents-in-law Sieberen and Wietske DeVries. He is survived by his sister Maria Jacobi, sisters-in-law Mannie Beijes, Tjits Beijes, and Marie Beijes, and many nephews and nieces. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 25 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., and the service will be held on Thursday, April 26 at 11 a.m., all at the Covenant Canadian Reformed Church at Grassie, 480 Woolverton Road, Grimsby, Rev. R. J. DenHollander officiating. Private interment preceding the funeral at Union Cemetery, Smithville. Special thanks to Dr. Bellaire, Dr. Marrone, and the staff at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital; Dr. Lee and the staff at the St. Catharines General Hospital; and all of the compassionate and caring staff at McNally House Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations to McNally House Hospice or Niagara Christian Gleaners are requested and would be appreciated by the family.
