Obituary of Helen Doan
Passed away peacefully at the Welland Hospital on April 20, 2018 in her 87th year. Beloved wife of the late Donald Doan (2007).
Loving mother of Linda Vincent (Cecil) and Bret Doan. And cherished grandmother of Joy MaGarrey (Christopher) and Bethanie Clarke (Mike). Adored great grandmother of James MaGarrey, and Ella and Smith Clarke. Predeceased by sisters’ Dorothy (Doan)
Poehlman, June, brothers Maurice, Charles, Lloyd Biederman and parents Charles and Edna Biederman. She was born in Humberstone Township and lived all her life in the Port Colborne/Wainfleet area. Helen was a Long Service Volunteer at Northland Manor and a member at First Lutheran Evangelical Church.
Cremation has taken place with arrangements entrusted to the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne. There will be a private family service at Oakwood Cemetery at a later date. The family extends sincere thanks to the staff at the Welland Hospital and warm gratitude to the wonderful staff and Dr. Rungi, at Portal Village Retirement Home for their loving care of Helen for the past 11 years. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Recreation Department of Portal Village Retirement Home, 300 Elgin Street, Port Colborne.
