Lovingly Remembered
At the age of 90, with her family at her side, Helen passed away peacefully on August 27, 2018 in Sherwood Park.
Helen is survived by her husband of 41 years, John Panas; daughter, Maureen Yohemas (Ken); son, Jerry McVeeters (Rosemary); 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Gwynne Hughes; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Shari Kosteriva (Ray); brother Eddie Hughes (Gwynne); and her parents, Ted & Nel Hughes. Helen was passionate about her work at Transport Canada and Environment Canada where she was employed for 28 years. She will always be remembered for her brilliant blue eyes, beautiful smile and her warm engaging personality touching the lives of those she met. Helen always enjoyed her family, a good party with friends, travel and time spent at Vincent Lake.
The family would like to thank Dr. Dusang for his care over many years and would especially like to express their thanks and appreciation to all the staff at the Sherwood Care Centre for their outstanding support and compassionate, loving care over the past three years.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service to honor Helen will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2:00 p.m. at Glenwood Funeral Home, 52356 Range Road 232, Sherwood Park.
