OBITUARY
Helen Irene Andrew
14 January , 1924 – 25 April , 2018
With great sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Helen Irene Andrew (née: Porter) age 94.
Helen was born in Canning, Nova Scotia on January 14, 1924 and passed away April 25, 2018 at Cottonwoods Care Centre in Kelowna. She was the daughter of the late Ethel (Manuel) and Cleveland Porter. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Gail Moll of Victoria, and Brenda Demers (Michael) of Sudbury, Ontario. She is also survived by her 4 grandchildren, David Demers, Stacey Odgers, (her husband Jim), Pamela Moll, and Katherina Whipple, and her great grandchildren Ashlyin and Keegan Whipple, and Matthew Stevenson-Odgers and Joshua Odgers, her sister-in-law Shirley Porter and brother-in-law Eric Morine, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her devoted husband of 70 years marriage, Jacobus (Jack) Andrew in 2016, and her siblings Blanche Jess, (husband Lawrence Jess), Jewel Morine, and Winfred Porter.
Helen was a true RCMP wife, living in New Minus and Truro Nova Scotia, and Ottawa Ontario before Jack’s retirement to Kelowna in 1969. She loved to out-fish Jack in small streams and lakes around all home areas. Together, they did a lot of camping in various RV’s and crossed Canada many times to visit family.
Very special thanks to care givers at Cottonwoods Care Centre and to Dr. Erasmus for years of medical services.
There will be no visitation or service by Helen’s request.
