Hazel Mary Irving
1927-2018
Hazel Mary Irving, 91, of McNair Manor in Riverview passed away peacefully
on October 27th, 2018 at the Dr. Georges L-Dumont Hospital with her family
by her side.
Hazel was born in Salem on February 14th, 1927 the daughter
of the late Arnold and Grace (Wallace) Steeves.
Hazel worked at T.Eaton Company for a few years but her main priority
in life was being a housewife and mother. Hazel was a loving
wife, mother and grandmother. Hazel was active in her community, she
was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch
#32, Hillsborough Ladies
Auxiliary, Hillsborough Senior Citizens Club and
sang with the Silver Chords Choir. She and her husband, Guy
enjoyed bowling together for over 40 years. She spent time
drawing, doing puzzles and thoroughly enjoyed travelling across Canada
and the US on several bus trips. Hazel’s health had failed over the
past few years and she lost her beloved husband but she felt blessed
to have had a good life and family. She would want everyone
to reminisce and think of a special time they shared. She
will be remembered for her sweet smile and for her compassion for
others. Her legacy of love will live on in the hearts of her
family and friends forever.
She will be deeply missed by her four daughters,
Donna Gaskin (Wayne) of Hillsborough, Ruth
Irving (Dave Chamberlain) of Turtle Creek,
Margie Steeves (Greg)
of Fredericton, and Barb Irving of Hillsborough;
son, Bob Irving (Donna) of Lower Coverdale; several treasured
grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister,
Edith Steeves of Riverview; sister in-law
Verna Steeves. She will also be missed by several nieces and
nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her beloved
husband Guy; brothers, Oris, Bruce
“Dint”, Ottis; sister, Erma
Hopper.
A Celebration of Hazel’s life will be held at the Albert
County Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 30th, 2018 at 2:00pm with Rev.
Dean MacDonald officiating. A time of visitation will take
place an hour prior to the service. Everyone is also welcome
to join the family following the service for further fellowship and
for refreshments at the funeral home. Interment will be in
the Grey’s Island Cemetery, Hillsborough,
NB.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Grey’s Island Cemetery
would be greatly appreciated.
