Hay HONG 2018

OBITUARY
Hay HONG
April 7, 1941 – December 8, 2018
Hay Hong passed away peacefully in her home on December 8, 2018 at the age of 77, after a short battle with cancer.
She was surrounded by her loved ones who compassionately cared for her during her final weeks. Hay is survived by 6 children, Samuth Liv (Sokhum), Samay Liv (Sokha), Sophy Liv, Peo Liv (Theavy), Lina Liv (Matt) and Rattana Liv (Kelly). She will also be missed by many beloved nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Hay was predeceased by her husband Sath Liv and daughter Vanny Liv.
Hay raised her 7 children on her own after the sudden passing of her husband shortly after the family immigrated to Kitchener, Ontario from Battambong, Cambodia. She always made sure her family’s needs were met before her own and was a strong, loving and selfless mother. She was very outgoing, outspoken and had no issue leading her large family. She regularly brought them together over her joy of cooking homecooked meals for them. Hay enjoyed returning to Cambodia yearly to visit friends and family and found fulfillment in charitable causes often fundraising for her hometown during her visits. She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life: family, love and laughter. Her family was her legacy and they deeply mourn their loss.
