Harold “Harry” Acker
Acker, Harold Gregory “Harry” – age 63 of Dartmouth. Passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018 in Dartmouth General Hospital with his loving family by his side. Harry was born in Halifax and grew up in North End Dartmouth. He was the son of the late Harry and Doris (Campbell) Acker. Harry was an amazing father, grandfather and avid sports fan. Through his battle with cancer Harry’s main goal was to marry the love of his life, which he did on September 7, 2018. “We did it Honey”. Harry is survived by his wife, Darlene (Payne); daughter, Leanna; son, Michael (Chelsea); step daughter, Cyrilanne (Mark); grandchildren, Ethan Acker, Brooklynn Anderson, Logan Anderson; step granddaughter, Ashlynn; brothers, Michael, Robert (Nikki); sister; Susan Garden (Gerrard); mother in law, Jessie Payne; best friends, Peter Myatt and Peter Morash. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 6 from 2-4pm followed by a Celebration of Life at 4pm all in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth. In keeping with Harry’s love of The Toronto Maple Leafs please feel free to wear any Maple Leafs attire. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Harry’s memory to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Halifax. Thanks to the doctors and nursing staff of Dartmouth General Hospital.
