OBITUARY
Ha My Luu
March 26, 1966 – November 7, 2018
Our beloved mom, My Ha Luu, has passed away at Dulcina Hospice on Wednesday morning, November 7, 2018, at age 55 years, after a 3-year fight with colon cancer. Despite the pain causing by the cancer treatments and multiple surgeries, she remained strong and optimistic until the end.
She was born and raised in Vietnam, married to our beloved father, Nghe Minh Au, and raised 3 children. Two of us were able to come to Canada and growth our family here because of our father’s and her determination and support. With our father and our brother, she reunited with us here in 2013, and had been fighting cancer since 2016.
One of the best memory about our mom is that she loved to cook, especially making deserts. The image of her carrying the bottle of chemo medication while cooking for the whole family or simply making the deserts she loved will always stay with us. Yes, despite the discomfort, despite the illness, she was still committed to keep her head high and move forward in life.
Our mom loved to learn and was committed to learn. She had been learning English while fighting cancer, learning new recipes after surgeries. She just simply refused to stop living the life she wanted. Her spirit held high. She loved practicing Buddhism, and that had helped her to leave peacefully.
A few paragraphs cannot sum up her life and how strong and supportive she was as a human being, a daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandma and a lot more roles she played during her life. If we have a choice to remember one thing about our mother, we will remember how she had been walking through the storms in her life always with a smile on her face.
She is survived by her beloved parents, sister, brothers, husband, daughter, 2 sons and 3 grandchildren, also by a lot of beloved nieces, nephews and relatives.
A Prayer Service will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street, N.W., Calgary, Alberta (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery), on Sunday, November 25 at 5:00 p.m.
A Funeral Service will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel on Monday, November 26 at 8:30 a.m.
At My Ha’s request no flowers or food; all donations will be made to the temple.
